Install guide
Add a professional greeting to 3CX
Upload a greeting to a 3CX Digital Receptionist, and hold music to Music on Hold.
Step by step
Put it live on 3CX
- Step 1
Download the PCM 8 kHz WAV file of each prompt from your Phone Greetings project.
- Step 2
Sign in to the 3CX Admin Console.
- Step 3
Open Digital Receptionists (under Call Handling in recent versions) and edit the receptionist that answers your number, or create one.
- Step 4
Under Prompt, choose Upload and select the greeting or menu file. Set the menu options to match what the recording says.
- Step 5
For out-of-hours, open the receptionist or the number's Office Hours settings and upload the out-of-hours file as the prompt used outside office hours.
- Step 6
Save, then call your number to hear it.
Hold music and hold messages
Hold messages go under Music on Hold in the system settings. Upload the hold file in the same PCM 8 kHz format.
Good to know
- 3CX expects 8 kHz, 16-bit mono WAV. The PCM 8 kHz file is already in that format, so do not convert it.
