Add a professional greeting to Microsoft Teams
Use the file as the greeting or menu prompt of a Teams auto attendant.
Step by step
Put it live on Microsoft Teams
- Step 1
Download the MP3 file of each prompt from your Phone Greetings project.
- Step 2
Sign in to the Teams admin center and open Voice, then Auto attendants.
- Step 3
Edit the auto attendant for your number, or add one.
- Step 4
In Call flow, under the greeting message, choose Play an audio file and upload the greeting.
- Step 5
For a menu, choose Play menu options, select Play an audio file and upload the menu file. Assign the dial keys to match the recording.
- Step 6
In Call flow for after hours, upload the out-of-hours file the same way, then submit.
Hold music and hold messages
Custom hold music in Teams is set with a call hold policy by your Teams administrator, using the same MP3 file.
Good to know
- Teams accepts MP3, WAV and WMA files under 5 MB. A greeting is far smaller than that.
