Add a professional greeting to Asterisk and FreePBX
Upload System Recordings in FreePBX, or copy the files into the Asterisk sounds folder.
Step by step
Put it live on Asterisk and FreePBX
- Step 1
Download the PCM 8 kHz WAV file of each prompt from your Phone Greetings project.
- Step 2
In FreePBX, open Admin, then System Recordings, and add a recording. Upload the file and give it a clear name.
- Step 3
Open Applications, then IVR, and pick the recording as the announcement of your menu. Set the digits to match the recording.
- Step 4
For out-of-hours, use the recording in an Announcement on the closed branch of your Time Condition.
- Step 5
On plain Asterisk, copy the files into the custom sounds folder (often /var/lib/asterisk/sounds/custom) and play them with Playback(custom/name), without the file extension.
Hold music and hold messages
In FreePBX, Settings, then Music on Hold: open a category and upload the hold file.
