Add a professional greeting to Cisco (CUCM and Unity Connection)
Upload G.711 prompts to Unity Connection call handlers and Music On Hold in Unified CM.
Step by step
Put it live on Cisco (CUCM and Unity Connection)
- Step 1
Download the G.711 µ-law WAV file in North America and Japan, or the G.711 A-law WAV file elsewhere.
- Step 2
For greetings and menus, open Cisco Unity Connection Administration, then Call Management, then System Call Handlers.
- Step 3
Open the call handler behind your number, choose Greetings, edit the Standard greeting and upload the greeting or menu file.
- Step 4
Edit the Closed greeting and upload the out-of-hours file, then save.
- Step 5
Set the caller input keys of the handler to match the menu recording.
Hold music and hold messages
Hold audio goes into Unified CM Administration under Media Resources, Music On Hold Audio File Management. Upload the hold file there and assign it as an audio source.
Good to know
- Use the same law as the rest of your network. µ-law and A-law files sound the same but are not interchangeable on every system.
